Sock Monkey!!!!!  Do you love him as much as we do???

Ok, sometimes we get a LITTLE goofy.  Last year we did a sock monkey block of the 'monk' which was wildly popular.    Cost is 'a buck a monk', or $12.  This year, if you're interested in the pattern add it to your cart and I'll send you the whole set of directions at once, instead of monkly.  Each monk he does something a little bit goofier than the last.

With your first month's block diagram you also get general directions for fusible applique along with the yardage list for monkey fabrics, so all twelve monkeys are the same.  Add in some backgrounds and accent fabrics (your own) and make these fun, quirky blocks; they're guaranteed to make you feel like a kid again.  The final instructions will be for sashings and borders and general finishing of your quilt.  Let's Monkey around a little!

(A confession..... I ran out of snaps, so some of the pictures have "fake" drawn in eyes and some don't have any - EEEWWWW.  I'll take new pics when I get around to fixing them.)

Just an up-front notice, the blocks will be set in 2" half-square triangles (product number PP203).  One package makes more than enough.  If you want to get ahead of the game and pre-order them so you're ready to go, click here, or ask at your local quilt shop.  Retail price is $7.50 / pkg.

This is an example of how this quilt will finish.  Final borders are equally interesting, and it's a fun, quirky setting with not alot of seam matching.

Here's a picture of one of the finished quilts by Nancy of our local guild.  She bordered each block with a dark fabric, then sashed and straight set them.  Great Job, Nanc!
